ssh-remote debug
Adding this option would be very useful as the GDB doesn't run at all in the vscode client but on the server side (where cobcd and the plugin are both installed) - so it also works cross-environment (like attaching to a process on CentOS from a Windows machine with nothing else then vscode+cbl-dbg).
It "somehow" would work by creating an ssh connection (so data and optional path to it [defaulting to ssh
] for that would be needed in the launch configuration) to the target, then starting GDB and instructing it there [may need GDB > 7.12, at least the official vim integration needs it] and presenting the result in the editor on the client.
Note: for plain GDB (and other debuggers) there's an existing extension which also has some nice launch configurations and good info in its README: https://github.com/WebFreak001/code-debug - as this uses the "The Unlicense" you are invited to copy from there and place it under whatever license you want (the one from this repo, of course) .
