please tag old versions
To ease that I did the work to lookup the actual old versions I could find. The technique for this was found at https://stackoverflow.com/a/21759466/5027456, which also explains a bit how this works.
git checkout 30a81f56
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version0.5.1 -m "Version 0.5.1"
git checkout 5330608e
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version0.7.1 -m "Version 0.7.1"
git checkout ad61479b
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version0.8.6 -m "Version 0.8.6"
git checkout 763df246
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version0.8.7 -m "Version 0.8.7"
git checkout 889ba02d
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version0.8.8 -m "Version 0.8.8"
git checkout 8ed27dcd
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version0.8.9 -m "Version 0.8.9"
git checkout 21ad4aac
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version0.10.1 -m "Version 0.10.1"
git checkout 26cbf718
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version1.1.0 -m "Version 1.1.0"
git checkout 33217287
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version1.1.1 -m "Version 1.1.1"
git checkout 28d8078a
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version2.2 -m "Version 2.2"
git checkout 031bcec4
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version2.3 -m "Version 2.3"
git checkout ac5287a3
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version2.5 -m "Version 2.5"
git checkout be86955e
GIT_COMMITTER_DATE="$(git show --format=%aD | head -1)" git tag -a Version2.6 -m "Version 2.6"
... other versions can be added later, but I felt the older versions were also good points in development and I'd like to have at least part of those being visible.
